StrokeLab Privacy Policy

StrokeLab is an offline-first Android app for learning simplified Chinese stroke order and handwriting practice.

Summary

What we do NOT collect

We do not collect personal information. StrokeLab does not collect, sell, or share personal data (such as name, email, phone number, contacts, precise location, photos, or identifiers).

We do not collect online identifiers. We do not collect Advertising ID, device IDs for tracking, or any cross-app identifiers.

We do not use any third-party advertising or analytics services.

Data stored on your device

StrokeLab stores data locally on your device to provide core functionality:

This data stays on your device. It may be included in device backups you control (for example, Android Auto Backup or manual backups). Uninstalling the app removes all StrokeLab data from your device.

Data backup and restore

StrokeLab has android:allowBackup="true" enabled. This means StrokeLab app data may be included when your device backs up to your Google Account (if Android Auto Backup is enabled). To exclude StrokeLab from backups, you can disable Auto Backup for the app in your device settings, or exclude StrokeLab from your manual backups.

StrokeLab does not integrate third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking services.

Email feedback

If you choose to contact us via email (for example, by tapping “Send feedback” in the app), the message is sent by your email app and email provider. StrokeLab does not run its own server to receive or process your data automatically; however, the content you choose to send (and any information your email provider attaches) will be handled according to your email provider’s policies.

Permissions

StrokeLab does not request or use the following sensitive permissions for core functionality:

StrokeLab does not require storage permissions for core usage. If we add optional export/sharing features in a future version, we will update this privacy policy and the app accordingly.

Children’s privacy

StrokeLab is a learning tool designed for learners of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
